We continuously develop our customer offering from a sustainability perspective, which takes place at different levels. We offer eg environmentally certified products such as GOTS and Oeko-Tex, we choose more sustainable production techniques, and we control suppliers’ performance based on several sustainability parameters.
To reduce our environmental impact, we use transport with a limited carbon footprint and avoid air transport. All conveyors that Springhill employs have a certified environmental management system according to ISO 14001. We try to reduce the amount of packaging material and choose recyclable and less environmentally harmful materials.
Product quality and chemical content are important for us and our customers. Obviously, we follow all the laws and regulations set by the EU and national legislators in the markets where our goods are sold, eg. REACh. We use the Textile Importers’ chemical guide and other guidance documents.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Springhill has been a member of the BSCI amphorae since 2007. It is a European initiative that helps retailers, importers and brands improve workers’ conditions in production. The membership of the amphorae BSCI is a step in the long-term ambition to become an even better and more responsible company. Springhill works consciously to develop and train our suppliers for better working conditions, both by employing local trainers / reviewers and through our own supervision. The key word is to communicate and coordinate, as well as make correct demands on our suppliers. It is an ongoing process with respect for the product, the environment and for everyone involved in the manufacturing process.

The Amfori BSCI Code of Conduct encompasses a number of principles that we work for to be complied with by our suppliers. The principles are based on the UN Declarations on Human Rights, the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and the ILO Conventions.

OEKO-TEX
The Oeko-Tex standard 100 is one of the most well-known and widely used brands in the world in terms of textile durability and is the world’s leading brand for textiles and leather. With this marking we show at Springhill Textile AB, in collaboration with our suppliers, that the product is safe to use with regard to hazardous substances! Certification means that the product meets high human ecological requirements, i.e. does not contain chemicals at levels that are harmful to health.
AMFORI
Springhill Textile has been a member of BSCI since 2007. We strive to successfully get all our suppliers approved in accordance with BSCI’s Code of Conduct. BSCI, or “Amfori”, which is the new name from 2018, is a large European network whose purpose is to improve the conditions and working environment for workers all over the world.
GOTS
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is an international label for clothing and textiles that covers both social and environmental requirements. GOTS aims to make it easier for the consumer to choose textile products where a holistic perspec-tive has been taken with regard to both environmental and social responsibility throughout the chain. The chain comprises several steps; cultivation, harvesting, preparation and manufacture of the garment itself.
REACH
Springhill Textile requires its suppliers to comply with the chemicals legislation under the European Parliament and Council regulations. REACH prohibits or restricts the use and import of certain types of substances. The aim is to reduce the use of chemicals that are harmful to the environment and human health.
TEXTILIMPORTÖRERNA
Springhill Textile is a member of Textile Importers. Membership gives us access to important information related to import, trade and CSR issues (corporate social responsibility).
Through Textile Importers we also have access to the Chemicals Guide, which was specially developed by SWEREA for textile products and which is based on EU chemical legislation – REACH.
Our goal is to increase the proportion of products in our range containing organic cotton. There are various labels for organic cotton. At an initial stage, these are products.
FOREST STEWARDSHIP COUNIL
Our labels are mostly manufactured from FSC-labeled paper. FSC stands for “Forest Stewardship Council”. The FCS mark on a product means that the label contains wood from responsible sources. A forestry that is environmentally friendly, socially responsible and financially viable.
DEN GRÖNA PUNKTEN
Springhill Textile takes responsibility for packaging that occurs in the business and our products are marked with the Green Point. The Green Point is a trademark that shows that the packaging fee is paid in the country where the packaged item is marketed. In Sweden, the FTI holds the trademark right.
